Better-Than-Good Friday

So with a day off and the sun in the sky, I decided to indulge in a little West Queen West Adventure. After snacking at Nadege, "aww"-ing at the amazing assortment of dogs out with their owners in the park, and crying my way out of boutiques due to their prices, I ended my adventure with a trip to my favourite vintage store in toronto: USED House of Vintage.

Located at 489 Queen West, smack dab in the middle of the fashion supply district is the gorgeously curated shop that has managed to be the only vintage store that I am frequently able to find pieces that are wearable and affordable; a hard combination in vintage for a fabulously-figured and thrifty girl such as myself.

The store features an assortment of regular and designer vintage pieces, and prices range from about $20 for a regular top to around $300 for an Alexander McQueen skirt suit (as pictured above). All the pieces are in good condition, and the stock is frequently changing as new pieces are bought.

One of my favourite parts of the store, beyond the amazing selection and flawless variety in pieces, is the cleanliness and organization of it all. There's never too much stuff, so what is available is generally of higher quality and you're not stuck fishing through racks of late 90s polyester and bad Banana Republic to find the one piece you really wanted. The staff there is always very helpful and cheerful as well!

Check out USED and their fantastic summer selection if you have the time, or even if you don't. It will be worth it I swear! Also, they have stores in Vancouver and Calgary as well if you're headed in that direction. To see their style for stock: http://usedhouseofvintage.tumblr.com/

Photography settings:

It was very bright outside and my camera had trouble picking up light inside the store, so the camera settings were adjusted accordingly.
