New York I love you, but you're freaking me out.

I thought I would post a few shots from my recent trip to NYC, the mecca of all things fashion.
I used my not-so-willing sister as my subject, trying to capture her tom-boy style, channeling popular streetstyle blogs.

To eliminate the people in the background and create depth of field, making my sister the main focus, I used a lower f-stop.  It was pretty bright outside also, so my ISO was low as well.

For my second image i decided to show a book I bought from the amazing bookstore in NYC called Printed Matter .  The book is called Graphic Design for Fashion (which is the field I want to get in to), and it has sections for invitations, magazines, promotions, and just general branding from the biggest fashion names.  If you get a chance you should check it out! It is also available at Swipe: Books on Design and Architecture here in Toronto at Richmond and Spadina.

Excuse my adorable cat for making an appearance.

I snapped these pictures at home in my room with the natural light shining in, so my ISO was lower at 300 I believe.  I set it to the aperture priority setting so I could add some dynamic and depth to the static images.
