During a photoshoot with my friend in his apartment, I experimented with using an external flash on my SLR. Personally, I tend to avoid flash whenever possible, but due to dire lighting situations (the loft ceiling lights and single floor lamp were not very helpful) and a wall colour reminiscent of raw sienna, flash was more than necessary. It also turned out to be pretty fun, albeit blinding at times.
Using an f-stop of 4.0, a shutter speed of 1/6 and an ISO of 400, here are the results from this flash experiment. Although not suitable for all projects, I really liked the overexposed look of the shots. The photographs were shot in B&W with their levels later adjusted in Photoshop.
