Deserted Designs

During Reading Week I was fortunate enough to escape the cold Toronto weather and head to Arizona. Despite all the high end stores and shopping malls in the area, the street fashion that I encountered was less than spectacular - there were no perfect pastels, bold colours, or exotic patterns to be seen anywhere. Sadly, even the polkadots were more ladybug than lady-like.
However, I did manage to find some fashion inspiration in the sprawling Arizona landscapes - and as it turns out, so too did several designers when creating their Spring/Summer 2012 collections. Below are some images of scenery that inspired me while on my trip. I took them on my canon g12 at an ISO of 160, Aperture 4.0 and shutter speed of 1/1000. I’ve paired them with some images and trends from Spring/Summer 12 collections that I think are evocative of the Arizona terrain. (All collections found on style.com).
